Painting in oil is a distinct privilege and pleasure for me.

Although I love creating in various different mediums, and I don't think I could ever limit myself just to one, I believe that painting in oil brings out the best of me as an artist - it allows me to be deliberate and maintain control at all times, but it pushes me to be less perfectionistic and more expressive and inventive.

 

Lately, I challenge myself to stray a bit farther from realism - to be daring with my brushstrokes and clever with my colors, layers, textures... I'm concerned with capturing a feeling, mood, energy, aura, atmosphere... I paint to create an impression and to show my viewers the undercurrent of a scene.

Throughout the genres and subjects below, there are works that were inspired by my inner voice and works that were commissioned by dear clients who entrusted me with their visions. I hope you see that my personal style persists and rings clearly in all of them. When I create an artwork, I smear and blend a part of myself in with the paints, and when you purchase my pieces you are actually evaluating and appreciating a part of me.
